Damien wanted his time in the spot light

When I was taking pics of Lance the other day...Damien wanted in on the action to! So, of course he got to get his picture taken too!! I can't believe how much he has grown and how "old" he looks! He is such a big helper and always wanting to help keep Lance in check...hehehe!! He is already showing me that he is a great big brother...never doubted it though!!It wasn't that cold out but he loves wearing hats with his coats!! And he is adorable in them...if you ask me...hehehe!!

Guess it runs in the family...

Young and old...they love this machine!! When Damien gets old enough and can ride his bike with no training wheels...he will be getting his own minature version...lol!! But that is still just being talked about. We shall see...but for the time being...he loves getting on Daddy's and "riding!"

9 months old

Yup that is right...9 months have come and gone!! Lance is on the go and doing so much that sometimes I wish he was still just laying around...lol!! He is now weighing in at 20lbs and 14oz and he is 28.25 inches long. He is growing like a weed! He has one tooth and 2 more poking their way through!! He is crawling, sitting up, pulling up on things and cruising the furniture and anything else he can shimmy along!! He is saying ma ma ma, ba ba ba, and da da da! He has the appetite of a pig!! He will come charging towards you if he sees that you are eating some...and he will pull up on you and demand that you give him some...lol!!!

He is the most laid back baby I have ever encountered!! He does has his moments but they are so few and far in between that you don't even notice is "bad" behavior!!

Fast Forward...

My babies!!
Many moons has passed since I last updated this blog!! And so many things have happened since then. If I go by my last post....Lance is now one week from being 9 months old!! Yup, it has been that long. Damien also started going back to school...the Mother's Day Out program at GLS. He loves it and doesn't seem to having any problems after the summer break! He did tell me the other day that he didn't want to go to school and his reasoning was that the school was eaten by bugs. I think he has a fascination with bugs at the moment!! Skylar has went back to her dads...she has been gone since mid-August. She challenged me in ways that I didn't think she was capable...but we all survived!! Damien can't wait for her to come back and neither can I. She just turned 9 last month in September...can't believe how much time has escaped us. Before I know it...she will be graduating HS. Lets hope that it goes by slowly from here on out!!

As for Barry and I, we are happy to be under the same roof...most days...lol!! He is busy with his job. Most days he is home by 6...sucks but manageable. I am officially a college student...again!! I forgot how much I love going to class. The only sucky part is that they want to measure how much you are learning and I am realizing the older I get the harder the tests seems. Maybe it doesn't come so easy to me anymore...I have a bit more distractions than I did a few years ago!!

What else....?? We added a new family member. Her name is Lexi and she is an American Bulldog, growing like a weed!! Our other 2 have had some issues with her but are slowly and I mean slowly warming up to her. She has been a challenge but a welcoming one.

I hope this will suffice every ones needs for the moment. I will start posting more often...I hope!! And here are some pics to tide you over...

This was taken close to the last day Skylar was here.

Damien with Lexi...our new pup

Damien being himself...so cute

This is my most favorite pic of Lance to date!!

Lance is now 6 months

Ok...ok...ok...so he has been for the last 2 days...lol!! And I have been slacking!!
He had his 6mo baby well appt today and he did great. No shots because I got him sick!! So, we will have to do that at a later date!!

His stats are
Height 26 3/4 inches
Weight 18 lbs
50 % for both...woo whoo!!

He is rolling all over the place. Sitting unsupported until he gets distracted...lol! He is getting on all fours and trying to crawl. His legs are moving but not his arms! Any day now...is what I keep thinking!! He is talking baby talk...can make out some ba, ma and da sounds!! He likes to skrieh...new for me. And he loves to eat...he is a hoss!!

I can't believe that 6 months has come already...I know that time flies but this is unreal to me! Next thing I know it...he will be in school!!

Barry had another one...

all of us...the best I could get!!

Cheesing!!

he loves it...yea!!

Birthday that is!! We had a great time just hanging around the house as a family! I even made him a cake. They all loved it and I had fun decorating it! I will never be a cake decorator but this will do...

Happy Birthday Barry!!

the BIG 3-0

Has come and gone for me. And I don't feel that change or any of that other stuff that I thought would come over me! I am proud to hold my head up and say that I am thirty!! Hell I am still get carded...lol!!
For the big day...we had all my closest friends over and they helped celebrate with my by eating some wings that Barry slaved over all the day and night!! And we even had a cake...Barry was the one who put the lovely words on there.....No More 20's...OLD ASS!! Love it..lol!!
I meant to take pictures but unfortunately...I was comsuming some beverages that were a bit stronger than normal...lol!! Curtousy of the Lees...
It was the best day of my life and one of the best birthdays that I have had in a long while!! So, thanks to everyone that was able to make it...it really meant alot to me!!

Barry's Daughter has Graduated High School

Barry's youngest son...Zachery
Monty and Dustin

Barry with Staci and Damien

Barry with his daughter...Staci
Such a beautiful girl!!

That is right...Mr. Sledd is old enough to have a child that has graduated high school!! And all the cards fell into place and he was able to go up and watch her walk!! He also got to see all of his kiddos while up there and meant his future...now son-inlaw...Monty!! It was the best time of his life...and I know there were many tears shed!!

caught them in the act...

of loving each other!! On our way up to Virginia...we stopped at a hotel and Damien was watching his movies. We put Lance besides him to get in on the action and next thing we knew. They were holding hands...more like Lance was!! It was the cutest thing! I can't get over how well they get along for the most part!

fun in the sun

Our neighbor and good friend...Jenny...got a pool and the kids got to enjoy too!! Damien was not liking it at first. And since I am a mean mommy...I made him stay in it until he did!! Lance didn't seem to mind it. He just laid around in his floaty. Maddy wanted out of her floaty...she wanted walk around like a big girl! This is going to be a great summer bc the water is so close to our house...Thanks Lees Family!!

Whistle Stop Park

I have always was told that there was a train park in Temple, TX. But never made our way over there. Well, finally Barry put a fire under our butts and we took Damien and Lance...more for Damien...to go and see the trains!! Well, he was in awe and loved it so much!! He got to go through the train and blow its horn!! He didn't want to leave. They even have a park next to the trains...he loved that just as much. This made his day...seeing what he loves up close!!

Damien's Surgery

Well he had his surgery early and then I never posted about it!! He did great...Barry and I on the other hand were nervous wrecks!! He did everything like a champ...when he woke from the surgery he didn't even cry!! We were so proud of him. He did throw up an hour later but that was expected!! When we got home, he slept off the rest of it! And to our surprise...even though we were warned...he was up and acting like he didn't ever get cut open!!A month later...he is showing anyone and everyone his "scar!" Barry keeps telling him chicks dig scars...lol!!

After all he has been through...you would think he would afraid of doctors!! But nope...he goes to them with all his trust!! Such a trooper....

Oh and I forgot to mention...he had 3 hernias...they only thought he had one!! His incision was close with dermabond...super glue for the sink!! And he is healing beautifully!!

She is here!

My baby girl Skylar is here!! And like every other time...there was some complications in her travels!! She was suppose to arrive at 11am but got here after 7pm! She seems to have taken it pretty well!!

Our car ride home was horrible!! We got caught in the storms that were passing through TX! At some points we were driving at 20 mph bc of visibility!! And I even heard some hail hit the car!! But I was determined to get home bc I wanted to get out of the car!!

And now she is here and is staying all the way until the middle of AUGUST!! I couldn't be happier!! So many things to do....I hope the months do fly past us!!

Such troopers...

our kiddos that is!! We went on a trip to VA and the first leg of it we made 3 stops...making it a 3 day trip. They did very well and didn't have too much problems with the drive.

Along the way we got to spend some time with Lola and Uncle Josh and Uncle Michael and Olivia and Julianna! Damien had a blast with Uncle Josh...he even got the biggest balloon we have ever seen!!

Once we got to VA....Damien couldn't have been happier! He got to play with his cousins...Cory, Anthony and Alli! He even got to meet his sister and 2 brothers...Staci, Dustin and Zachery!!

When we left...you could tell that he already missed them all....

The car ride back was better than we thought it was going to be. Instead of a 3 day trip back...we had to do it in 2. The reason for that was we had to pick Skylar up at the airport!! Damien and Lance did great!! The first stretch from VA to AR was pure torcher!! It was almost a 15 hour trip and that was including stops...We had some minor and major incidents. Damien's nose bled twice and Lance had some explosive poos and pees!! Other than that...they did great but I don't think we will ever be doing that again!! Flying seems like a better option!

From AR to TX it was much better but you could tell we all wanted out of that truck!! Lance couldn't take it anymore and the last hour of the trip was the worst!! He cried so hard and so long!! I don't blame him...Damien would even tell me he wanted out of his carseat! He would tell me that he was "stuck!"

I think for the rest of the year...we will be only making short trips...no longer than 2 hours!!

who would have thought....

that Barry has a daughter that graduated high school!!

On June 6th Barry proudly watched his daughter get her HS diploma. They both were so happy that he could make it!!

Congratulations Staci Lynne Sledd!!

5 months...

Where has the time went?! Lance is now 5 months old and is doing so much. He now can roll over both ways. He has discovered his feet and loves to suck on his big toe! He is a jumping fool in his jumperoo and loves it when anyone talks to him. He is drooling so much but no teeth have made an appearance!!

He has grown so much in just a month...he is now 17 lbs and 26 in long!! He is growing like a weed!!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance yet to take pictures...but I will and then I will come back post some pics of my little man!!

Happy 5 months Lance!!

Lance is 4 months old

And his daddy was here!! We went to the doctors today for his Well Baby Check up and he is growing!!

His stats are:
Height: 24 1/2 inches
Weight: 13 lbs 13 ozs

I can't believe how much weight he has put on!! He is doing so much...he is putting anything he can grab into his mouth. And he is drooling like crazy...he doctor said that he can feel a bump under his gums and said that is a sign that he might have his first tooth by 5 months!! He pushing himself up when on his belly and I think he is bashful bc he won't let me see him roll over!! But I know he can do it bc when I lay him down...I leave and come back....and the little turd is on the opposite side from how I left him!! He is such a social butterfly...loves it when anyone talks to him!! He loves it so much he will talk back and give you the biggest smiles you have ever seen...

He is home...He is home!!!

Yesterday at 330am...I was up and getting ready to head out the door with both my kiddos to PICK UP THEIR DADDY!! Getting up early and having to haul both kids was so worth all of it. To get ready for that day...the night prior, my neighbor and good friend...Jenny, helped me put up the sign and flags for his arrival! Then off to bed I went...lol...all 2 hours! We made him a sign so he could see where we were!! They had a hang out tent with food and many tvs for the kids. The best one was the one that showed the plane taxiing on the run way! We even got to see them deboard the plane!! It was a beautiful sight! After that we went out onto the field to await their arrival and it was so nerve racking...knowing that they were only about 5 to 8 minutes away. Finally the buses pull up and they revealed them to us like that show Extreme Home Make Over!! Some people were even saying..."Move that bus!" LoL!!! They then had to march up to us and then after a brief 2 to 5 minute speech from someone...LOL...they were released to their loved ones. Then we were finally reunited. Damien was so happy...you could see the joy in his face when he realized that he daddy was there and it wasn't a waste of his time...hehe! Damien wouldn't let him out of his sight...I think he was afraid that his daddy was going to leave him. We were able to get a family photo out there on the field...this is going to be one of those days that I will never forget!!
